Description of incident: I was referred from Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD) to GPD to file a police report on fraud committed by Russell Heather Maria via social media (Instagram). My advocate contacted the dispatcher and explained my situation. The dispatcher (Non Emergency Dispatcher). informed me that she would inform the Front Desk that I need an ASL (American Sign Language Interpreter) and my English writing isn't good. When I arrived to the office, I was frustrated because I could not understand Officer Zelaya and was unable to assist me. I contacted my advocate at GLAD. She contacted GPD and requested that Officer Zelaya to contact me and to provide an ASL interpreter. Officer Zelaya to this time, had not contact me.
