Name of officer: N/A. Complaint of RODIUM business on Redondo Beach Blvd.
Date and time: N/A
Location of interaction: On Redondo Beach Blvd between Van Ness Ave. and Crenshaw Blvd.
Citizen Name: AB
Description of incident: Rodium practices dangerous, improper use of stop sign paddle to illegally stop traffic on busy two lane streets of Redondo Beach Blvd. There are no legal stop signs or warning markers, nor is it a legal intersection. With cars driving at 35mph on both lanes of Redondo Beach Blvd, the Rodium workers boldy step into oncoming traffic and stand in the lane with the stop sign paddle. i was on the inner lane and didn't see the guy who was standing in front of the car on the outer lane. When I passed by I heard a guy yell "hey stop", and then looking at my rear view mirror I see that he's illegally blocking traffic. Its very dangerous! I could have crashed into a car that getting out of the parking lot because that car might have thought they have the right of way because of the Rodium worker with the stop sign paddle. Cars exiting the Rodium should wait for oncoming traffic to subside because there is a traffic light on Crenshaw Blvd. Instead, Rodium workers encourage dangerous driving behavior and could potentially cause traffic accidents. Please investigate the Rodium. For evidence, I took a picture of the worker in action, holding the stop sign paddle and stopping oncoming traffic to let the cars in the Rodium exit the parking lot. Thank you for keeping residents of Gardena safe!
